Servus!
Hey, itz Da Spud! Thought you had gone underground man!
I have heard mixed blessings from a couple of Homegrown owners in the past. If the deal is good enough, I would go for it.
Bicycling was saying that the homegrown is almost to light. But I don't know anything about that.

From what I've read, the Schwinn Homegrown frames are supposed to be awesome. If you are gettting a killer deal then go for it.
One thing to keep in mind though, Schwinn is in financial difficulties so who knows if they will be around a few years from now. Just something to keep in mind if you ever damage the frame.
Yeah, Schwinn has gone bankrupt before. And their customer service is scetchy. If they go under, then you may have to kiss your warranty goodbye, unless they merge with someone and don't forget their customers.I don't think Schwinn will "go under" completely.

I think you're right Fubar. Schwinn probably won't go under. More than likely someone will buy the company. Hopefully the new owners will honor the warranties.
I don't see why a new company wouldn't honor the Warranties, but who can say. The only thing sure in business is that they(the businesses) will always follow the money trail.
