I am studying childbearing families this semester in school, one of the review questions from the text that I paid 150$ for is. I just had to laugh because supposedly these questions are suposed to help one prepare for the NCLEXRN.

School agers can begin drug abuse. What is a common household product frequently abused by school agers.

a. Grated orange peel
b. Laundry bleach
c. Aerosol Cooking oil
d. Shredded Cabbage

Anybody wanna get high on shredded cabage, I hear it is a real good buzz.

My favorite is when stupid kids huff on refridgerant. Its natural selection at maximum brutality.

I just though it was funny being a university course and all. How could you think that shredded cabbage would get you high. Heck I have heard of peanut butter, but cabbage?

The freon in spray bombs can cause heart and lung problems, not to mention what is probably happening to the brain. Gives you lungs a nice oily coating though.

As for trying to get high on cabbage, you will probably just have real bad gas.

With pnut butter isn't just an allergic reaction?

No I dont meant that. When I was younger some of the kids thought you could get high by snorting peanut butter.

I watched a really sad documentary about kids who lived on the street in Romania called "Children Underground". These kids got through day to day life by inhaling paint fumes. Some of these kids were extremely young, yet they were addicted to paint. If they begged enough money in one day, they would usually buy paint instead of food, because it alleviated their hunger and they could buy more paint for their money. It was absolutely heartbreaking. I doubt any of those kids will ever grow up to live a "normal", sustainable life. A lot of them even had parents still, but chose to live on the streets because the poverty at home was so bad. :(

Well if THEY start to bother your nose and you have to sneeze, make sure you face the wall. That's how they get the "faux" texturing in designer homes.

More specificaly, freon depletes oxygen. One molecule of Chloral Floral Carbon is supposed to be able to destroy 100,000 molecules of oxygen. Imagine the same thing, but instead of the ozone, your blood stream.

I remember grade school recess (many decades ago). My buds and I would frog squat
as long as we could, then suddenly stand up. Of course we would immediately
pass out and fall down. A few swats administered by the vice principal brought
that particular form of entertainment to a sudden halt.

That used to be popular here too.

You could always tell who the real huffers were. They had a goldish tint around their nose and mouth.
(Gold paint is the "best" paint to huff if you didn't know) If the cabbage doesn't work out for you, I've heard smokin' dried banana peels will.

Nah, it's the gubmint. If pot were legal kids wouldn't heve to resort to huffing propellants to get a buzz.

Doesn't freon settle into the bottom of the lungs, thus suffocating you?

I remeber idiots that "robotripped", lots of those idiots got darwinized. Robotripping is when people find a bunch of over the counter cough medicines that have a certain chemical in them (omitting the chemical so kids don't try it), and if they down enough of the medication, they get this high.

Problem was the side effects of the other chmicals and the problems of the primary chemical itself, made it very easy to have a heat stroke, even in cold weather. Like I said, lots of Darwinization going on. I had to KO one of my friends and send him into a rehab facility over that crap. Pretty much I was trying to get him to stop, his family was trying to get him to stop, and his fianceee was trying to get him to stop....he got violent, so I knocked him out. He's rehabilitated now, and glad for it, but that was a VERY ugly situation.

His problem was he was using the stuff to "run away" from personal demons he had to sort though...that's where a otherwise minimally or non-addictive drug can become VERY addictive.

Everyone just needs to keep a straight head sometimes, it prevents lots of issues later on. No finding ways to get high, no abusing drugs to run from issues, no getting s**tface drunk every night....if you are going to drink, do it responsibly. If you are going to do pot, do it responsibly. Keep away from the physically addictive stuff (alcohol included if there is a family history).

And I agree about legalizing pot. Legal pot means no having to resort to dealers for it, which means less exposure to "harder" drugs. That in the end means a lower likelihood of trying out those other drugs.

Only reason pot is a "gateway" drug is the fact that a businessman (dealers included) have to offer a variety of wares so they can continue to make money in event of a drug or specific demand shortage. This means they will carry other drugs.

It might, I'm not sure. The only thing I know for a fact is that it destroys the oxygen in your body. Basicaly, if you breath in refrigerant and don't get hooked up to an oxygen machine real fast your as good as dead.

In high school I can remember some geniuses doing what sounds like that robotripping you brought up. They would have 10,000 mg's of various over the counter pain killers. When I talked to my doctor about that he was astounded they survived.
