BMX - I hate to ask a n00b question but...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm wanting to get back into riding. It's been a good 10+ years and I'm not in the shape I used to be in (imagine that). I have an old generic bike that I'm going to fix, but more then likely I'll soon be shooting for some air time again and I don't think my old ride will be able to handle me (6'0" 220lbs). I'm looking at a couple of used bikes but could use a little guidance as far as price and such. Looking at these:

http://austin.craigslist.org/bik/197432103.html
Mostly I'll be riding casually until I get into better shape, then maybe some jumps, etc...
Opinions?
Thanks

Seeing as how he's 6', he should be getting the Holmes, not the Dirtbike. The frame will fit him way better.

I emailed the guy about the dirt bike, haven't heard back yet. The Holmes is out, I just looked it up and it's a 9 hour drive away from me.

Ask for more info on it. If I had the money, I'd buy it myself and sell the parts individually. Profile cranks = $$$

STA frames any good?

STA = Standard... and yes, they are pretty decent. Many do not buy them though because they are so expensive and there are lighter and better frames... but they are good.

Bah, he sold it. Found another one though. Based on a Joey Garcia frame? Hoffman bars, etc... If I don't find anything local I think I may get a DK 6 Pack or Cleveland.

Probably because they stopped making them about six years ago. There's only one guy I know who still has one of those, and half the riders around here would stab him in the back for it if ever given the chance.

Cool, I just picked it up. :) It needs some new grips and some air in the rear tire, but otherwise it's ready to ride.
