Looks a little home-made on the attachments, but what a great idea: The Grocery Getter. (http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/205401911.html)

Yes its made out of an old shopping cart. It's a simple design that works. The bike is also for sale but for an additional 25.

That is so cool. I've seen some ingenious designs around town from the local bicycle homeless, but nothing this slick looking.

That looks like a pretty neat set up. Another thing people can do is rig up a mechanism to tow a regular folding grocery cart that you can buy at any department store. If you live in an apartment (where storage space is a real problem) and you don't have to go far to get groceries this can work very well. I rigged up my grocery cart behind my Mongoose by attaching a ring in the hole of the rear rack with a chain snap. Most of the weight was taken by the wheels of the cart so the strain on the bike was minimal. The biggest drawback was that my speed was limited and I needed to have a route with comparatively smooth pavement. It looked a little ridiculous but it worked.

The only problem I see with this is that it's made from a stolen shopping cart.

Something like that but I just raided my local Canadian Tire store and threw it together myself. Looks like a good little gizmo though.
