When you are down and out - just straight up bummed, what do you do that is a sure fire way to put you in a good mood again?
A couple of my BF buddies have been sad lately and hopefully one of your suggestions might make them joyful again! :)

ANYWAY........
I get involved with things that I know are my favorites. I get into a real cleaning mood when I'm upset. So, I go and detail my bikes, my cars or my kitchen. I keep myself busy so that I am focusing on my OCDness rather than any other issues.
Then I talk to my sweetie and things are guaranteed better.

+5 on cleaning. If stuff is stressing me or bothering me cleaning helps me Zen.

Or I try to think of what could have been if I wasn't a good girl.

Nice, another Cold fan! I like the one song I've heard from Braking Benjamin, so maybe I should look in to them a bit more thoroughly.
Being outside in nature usually helps me. Riding my bike is usually a good way to turn things around. Playing with my niece or nephew (1 and 3 years old, respectively). Reading a good book that takes my mind off things. And, if all else fails, order a pizza, open a beer, and watch Jack Bauer kick some ass on "24".
When I'm bummed I just want to be alone. Best way to do that is to strap the guitar to my back and ride my motorcycle out to the marina where I can sing to the ocean.
It's therapeutic.

My dog Melvin is like a prince among dogs, and never fails to cheer me up. Seriously, I've never been mad at him for anything, and his only interests seem to be companionship, tablescraps, protecting the yard, and playing with the neighborhood kids. He's one of the best things that's ever happened to me, not sure what I'll eventually do without him. He's just perfect.

Going for a walk or a hike or a bike ride...something that gets the blood flowing. Writing things down on paper is a great release. Strumming and singing on the ol' guitar always feel wonderfully therapeutic as well. :)

My twin sentiments exactly. Can't think of a thing to add, so I'm going to hush...

Ah siu, just grab your partners credit card and go shopping... sure works for me.
If all else fails... rent DVD and buy take aways and stay home and hibernate.
I think it depends on the nature of my blahs. Most of the time, playing with my boys can make me happy. Being mauled by a five year old and a two year old will take your mind off of almost anything. A trip to the zoo with my family always leaves me in a good mood. If i just need time to be alone and think, I either go for a ride, long, slow distance ride, or I mow the yard. Mowing is such a mindless task that I find myself able to think things out very easily.

I look at my beautiful wife and my beautiful daughter, think about how joyful and important my life has been since they have been in it. We have a roof over our heads and I can provide for them. I am truely lucky. Everything else is a bonus.:)

Surprisingly enough, I go ride my bike. And I've ridden it exactly zero times in the last 8 days, so I'm pretty irritable right now :o:(

I like to go to the Nubble (picture in my profile). I can spend hours there watching the waves crash on the rocks while the tide comes in or goes out. Its one of my usual biking destinations.
