Anyone here ever tried it or wanted to? Im thinking about it. Ive got all kinds of weird stupid thoughts all the time Ild like to try in front of an audience.

I soOO wanted to be a comedian when I was little..
Jim Carry doesn't impress me in the least. His comedy is very similar to mine with all the facial expressions and such.
I do envy him for being able to do it in front of an audience.I get stage fright.

There a place in Gatlenburg Tn called the Comedy Barn. I may ask to get a set pretty soon. If I bomb at least i dont live there and no one will ever know. I gotta get my nerve up though.

I think Ild be a cross between Norm MacDonald (hero), and mabey Larry the Cable Guy. i have a dry delivery most times, but at times acting like a complete dufus with flaling and stupid retardedness mixed in works to. I can do the Slingblade voice perfect 99% of the time. Im thinking of doing that impersonation talking about random crap for one segment.

Do it. Just put together a 30 second set and go on an amateur night, see if it works.

Good luck

I had a friend at my old job...maybe 10 years ago who was always trying to confince me to do it. I never did.

It was hard to convince him that *he* just happened to be on the same wavelength as me, but the general populice is not. Kinda like Dennis Miller and Monday Night Football, ya know. ;)

Go for it though man....if you think you could make them laugh that give it a shot. Oh....and record your act digitally so you can post it here. We want proof and we want to be critics. ;)

Some stand up is so horribly bad and not funny, I cant even stand to listen too. Especially george lopez.
