Rode home in the rain without a jacket or anything.. my feet got wet (clipless sandals - which have left tanlines) but they were hot from being in boots all day anyway.

unlike public transit, my bike does not charge me $3 to $8 for a round trip in the Philadelphia area.

yes, but those giant oil companies would be awfully poor if all they had between them was the measly profits from fossil fuels used in making bicycles and their lubricants.

True, but the oil used would then last much longer it most of it was allocated only to manufacturing
uses.

That's what I hear, some places make most of there money from purchases other than gas. Heck, some places even make money on air itself.

True, but you're not pumping gallon after gallon, week after week into a tank. Also, although rare, manufacturing processes can actually derive power from renewables. We have a few businesses in town that actually make claim to purchasing all wind power generated electricity. This costs more in this area.

Yeah, you're nitpicking.
Do the trucks that deliver to our grocery stores does that take oil? I am not to sure I am still confused on if there is any oil used when we buy stuff from a convience store does a truck drive there? So we still use oil I think that the oil gas jet fuel type of stuff is more used when we transport things between the warehouse and stores and people on planes. When we ship a package etc. Then we drive sure it helps, I don't think we will see the national average price of gasoline will drop. When a quarter of a million or so people ride bikes to work etc. I am not to sure on how this stuff works so I think the only diffrence that bicycling makes as far as oil, and gas. Is were not taking out of our pockets for the stupid stuff. I am sure this is a ill formed quote, but I am not really paying attention
