Australia - New Zealand - Tempe 1000?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi,
I am brand new on the forums! :)
I was reading an article in the Sun Herald on Ryan Bailey,
and they were talking about the upcoming Tempe 1000.
I have never heard of this race? I assume it is a track-based,
1km race? Could someone shed some light on the subject?
Also, are there any Aussie track cyclists on the forum?

Welcome Snakey.
Perhaps it's part of the Events Du monde $10,000 Track Carnival at Tempe Velodrome on 29 Oct? (info from nsw.cycling.org.au).
There are a few Aussie guys around the forums who ride track (& road as well). I suppose the Track forum & maybe the SS/Fixie forum would be the place to find most track cats.

No worries. As for lingo, mostly - 'tho outside of the Aussie/NZ regional forum there are a few "issues" from time to time :D Apparently not everyone is used to the Australian tradition of sh*t-stirring.
