Cyclocross - Goin old skool this year...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So I decided rather than racing my mountain bike in cross this year, I'm going for an old school build. I have a fixed gear conversion, 57cm (just a hair small, so perfect for cross) Azuki chromoly frame with gobs of tire clearance, and a set of flip/flop hubs on *red* Mavic MA3's. I just acquired some Mafac Racer centerpulls and levers in a trade, and have a Nitto Technomics stem and Radonneur 44cm bar on my touring bike I plan to pull off. I'm going to run it SS with something just a tooth over 2:1. I'm stoked. I think it will be a fun, solid bike, and since I don't really care about winning it should serve my purposes. Can't wait for my broken hand to heal and cross season to start!

The more CX races I see, the more I think that the best CXer has no more than an 8spd in the back and maybe a double in the front.

^^ thats why I refuse to get rid of my campy 8 speed :)
In fact I wish it was a 5 speed to be honest.
Ordered the parts today--pics will follow shortly. I'm torn between my Radonneur and North Road (mustache w/ slight drop) bar... any input?

North Road! Because you are in a race against poor taste, and you want to win.:D
