As I woke this morning around 5:45am, I heard the sound of a helicopter hovering somewhere close. My first thought was great, accident on the road I take out of Chino Hills to my train, and traffic will be way backed up. I drop my son off at school, and head towards my train and sure enough, traffic is stopped right away. As I creep along (knowing I'm going to miss the train and have a 1.5hr commute), I see the police activety (copter long gone), and see the right lane blocked off --- hence the traffic now.
I pass the police and see first a coyote very much dead on the road. About 100 feet up, my heart sinks as I see a road bike, back tire bent in half on the road. I do not see a damaged car anywhere. I reacalled the copter sound from earlier, and am imaging a life flight was used. This was on a steep downhill, and it likley was still dark when this happened -- just praying the rider is ok. Maybe the copter was just a police or news deal.
As I saw no car involved, I just don't get the coyote?
