Does anyone know if an old Shimano Tourney rear derailer (say 1990 ish) will work with indexed shifting? Ive got an 8 speed set of Sram MRX shifters, Shimano compatible.

Any input?

Thanks,

Scoob

I dont think it will work well on SIS if its friction gears. I believe the idexing relieys on the lateral play in the top pulley to execute the gear change . It may work if you change the top pulley ???There are other guys on here that could answer that question better than me :D
