Northeast - Looking for organized bike rides in Maryland

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Is there a calendar of biking events like the MS150, or Club centuries posted anywhere? I'm looking for half centuries and the like to ride this fall in the Maryland area.

It's not exactly Maryland, but not too far - a beautiful route (with good food;) ) on what is supposed to be a nice, 80 degree day:

The Oxen bike club and the Potomac Peddlers bike club both have good lists of :Out of Bounds" events. They are at ohbike.org and bikepptc.org respectively. The PPTC century is this weekend with a variety of ride lengths.

John,

Thanks for the link. Do you belong to Annapolis Bike Club?

I'd ask ride along with you on one of your local rides, but you would smoke my butt!!!

I rode on Sunday down Dicus Mill Rd. to Gambrills Rd then back through Four Seasons to WaughChapel Rd. Then back to my house off Rt. 170. Gambrills Rd. has a few good hills too.
I'm not sure if this link will work, but here is where I rode.

Likewise Don. I could join you as a fellow first timer on one of these rides. Atleast they would have two new kids to make fun.

Just a short bridge away.

Also the Baltimore Club http://baltobikeclub.org/
I usually ride with PPTC or Oxon Hill. Both good groups.
Tour du Port coming up in a few weeks. Nice ride around Baltimore.

I just went and signed up for the Tour DuPort on October 22nd. Let me know if you want to go along too.
Also, I think I had replied to another one of your posts. I lived on Kent Island back around 1989 or so. I loved being down on the end of the Island. It was very peacefull there. I'd love to ride the shore also.

Hi Don.

No. I am one of those Snow Valley doods.

Dont be afraid to ask, i doubt i'd be smoking anybody this time of the year. However, due to short days all my riding during the week is out of my office door in Columbia. We could hook up on Sundays. I usually go slow on Sunday after getting whooped on Saturday. On an easy day like that i like to start at the BWI Airport Aircraft Viewing Area on Dorsey Rd and ride to Avalon area in Patapsco and back taking in a loop of the BWI trail too.
