General Cycling Discussion - I Am Leaving!!! Gosh Darnit!!

I am leaving tomorrow at 3:30 am for Gunter Annex,Montgomery, Alabama. While I wish it was to ride, it is not. I am going for a Civil Air Patrol activity called Cadet Officer School. As I am a 1st Lt in CAP,COS is a good place for me to go. I regretfully am spending to much money on it, I'd rather put it(the money) into my new bike, but I think COS will help more when I need to get into a college.I will be gone until July 6, I don't know if I will have internet acces so I may not be posting for awhile.I am going to be making up for lost posting time tonight hopefully!!!

Fubar 5, You are indeed very lucky, your going on a trip in prepartion for your college years, that is a good thing some teenager, are not preparing themselves for the more difficult task ahead of them, and remember this trip of yours, your not doing it for anybody, but for your future....

I was in CAP in high school. Man we had a Blast at SAR tests(coed camping)!

They have pretty strict rules about coed now. Girls on one side of the camp, guys on another.No going in each others tents, even if they are open.At the encampments(did you ever go to an encampment?) the girls have a seperate flight, with seperate barracks. One year, there were 139 guys,and 17 girls, and one dance. Hee hee, you can imagine!! There were guys up till the crack of dawn writing love notes to the girl they wanted to take to the dance. It was funny, and then the next day the writers would be grumpy and us guys that went to bed would get them in trouble all day!!!! good times, good times
