You have to laugh that the longboarder was the one to get pulled over.

Why is that funny? I get pulled over (and sometimes ticketed) on my longboard regularly.

I meant it was funny that out of all those bikes the cop singled out the guy on the board. Because that's typically what they do. I've got plenty of experience getting harassed by the police while longboarding too.

As much as I think that police could spend their time catching real criminals............the long boarder was pulled over because he didn't have a headlamp or flashing clipon rearlight. Easy rule to abide, and my grandfather says "the golden rule is to not break more than one law at a time".

He may have been busted for weaving in and out of the on-coming lane.

But take a look at the cop. He speeds down a twisty residential street in the dark, weaves over a double yellow line to pass a bicyclist on the wrong side of the street, and doesn't turn on his lights except to get the attention of a skateboarder. How many people are killed by reckless LEOs or other drivers vs reckless skateboarders? Has a skateboarder ever killed anyone other than themselves? What if suddenly a vehicle pulled out during this stupid stunt, forcing the LEO to swerve back onto his side of the road, where there's a bicyclist? Or maybe he'd swerve over onto a lawn and into somebody's living room?
Who hires these people? Don't they have standards of any kind?

Well, Portland is one of the only cities to legally recognize and accept skateboarding.
So I guess the guy broke a skateboard law?

That being said....These YouTube videos makes me want to buy a Grape Krate
and move to Portland ! Great stuff !!!
The skateboarder got a ticket for 'Improper Use of Lane'. It was thrown out in court.

Yep, that's the ticket I always get.

There is the problem right there. Carving is the freaking point of longboarding, its also how you control speed. Many LEOs are just ignorant of whats on the roads.
