Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm a newbee inthe world of triathlon. I did a sprint on 9-10-06 and got hit by the bug. I plan on training for the tinman at tupper lake in june 07. I've been looking for bikes and have found a few. The specialized(transition), cervelo(dual 10) and a road bike spec. (tarmac Pro). I have talked to a few poeple sense and have suggested a road bike. I'am starting to get a little confused especially with all the different brands. My bugget is between 1000 and 1800. Any suggestion would be very greatful.

Felt makes a sweet bike that bridges the gap between road and tri.

The benefit of a road set up is you can use it for group rides, geberal road riding etc where a time trial bike is made for essentially going fast in a straight line. If I was just starting this is the bike I would buy. You can always upgrade the aerobar set up etc later.
