His most popular song was Cliffs of Dover, but the only version on iTunes is a live recording. It's really good, but I prefer the studio version.

He was in the same "league" as SRV in that they grew up in the same area, played the same venues, and considered themselves as each other's "rivals".

Different styles, though. Eric Johnson doesn't play a whole lot of blues, but Cliffs of Dover is a GREAT showcase for his abilities.

Ahhh yes...I remember wishing that my first one would hurry up and crawl, walk, talk, etc. and then realizing with my second and third that I didn't want them to be in any hurry to do those things! Once they're up and running there's no holding them back.

Past week or so I've been listening to The Streets - Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living.

Feel like I need a remedial course in brit slang to keep up with that though.

Other than that I haven't heard much new music lately. Just keep cycling through my iTunes library. I was talking about music with some friends last night and the subject of Brian Eno came up. I realized I hadn't listened to any of my Brian Eno albums in quite a while, so I'll probably be playing some of that here pretty soon. Which will probably lead into a bunch more electronic music. Maybe some Bjork, Autechre, Squarepusher, etc.

That would be the freaking construction that is going on on the street outside of my house. Every few hours they drop some huge concrete pipe things onto a truck and the whole house shakes.

They start early everyday. Have I mentioned that I'm practically trapped here too? I hate construction! I'm trapped here...really...they fenced us in. :eek: Okay...not really, but they fenced off two out of three exits (the two closest ones) out of my neighborhood.
