Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Woke up this morning, great weather, went out for a ride with my sister.
The Ballona Creek path is pretty ho-hum, but the beach is really nice. We got passed by the Belize club on the way there, pretty fast group.
Some pics (nothing fancy here:p )

Nice pics!......today seems to be the day of bike paths. So who's submitting pics of SART? Only then, our day will be complete...:D

Looks nice, I commuted for 6 months between Malibu and El Segundo and was on that path every day. I miss it,
Nice beach but it needs grooming.

Bollona Creek isn't much on scenery, but it's usually pretty empty and it's 6 flat miles without lights or other stops. I haven't found that combination anywhere else on the westside. I used it on my commuter path when I lived in Venice and worked in Korea Town and still use it to do interval sprint (well, more like jog) training. I'd love it if they could clean up that last mile or so and extend it further down.

Hey bro, are you sure that's Playa Del Rey? I snapped this at Marina Del Rey. Do you ever watch the crew teams row? Oh, and from the angle of the pic, it looks like you are riding in the pedestrian lane. :p

None of the pictures were of Ballona Creek Bike Path. They are the South Bay BIke Path around Marina Del Rey and Dockweiller Beach. The creek that is on the left side (of the shot where she is in the pedestrian lane) is Ballona Creek but the Ballona Creek Bike Path starts east of there.

Okay, that's probably Marina.
And yes, no pics of Ballona. Would you want a pic of Ballona? Believe me, you don't.:D

I agree with you. The pictures you took were great. I was just reminiscing a bit
Haha, we can get away posting non-exact locations in the main forums. Hell, just put down "Venice Beach" or "Malibu" for everything and always post a sunny pic and the non-locals will be like "ooh and aah, I wish I was in SoCal with all of you cool SoCal BF'ers who can ride 365 days a year." But here we know most the locations and can spot an out-of-place description. :p
BTW - nice ride. I love riding at the beach!

My dad lives near there. I've ridden that road many times. I used to like flying down Balona Creek and coming back via San Vicente.
Nice pix....I taught sailing classes at the UCLA facility right there at the marina for six years. Got to be too much of a pain when we moved from West L.A. to Agoura. Besides it took time away from using my own catamaran! Now cycling takes too much time away from using my own catamaran!
