Bicycle Mechanics - Where does RX100 Groupo rank?

I recently purchased a 95 Bianchi with Shimano RX 100 groupo. I did a search and found no references to RX 100. Can anyone tell me where RX 100 fit into the Shimano line up? It's a double with 7 speed rear, and down tube shifters. It looks pretty decent. Sorry, no pics. Thanks for any help.

It was the next level down from 105. I was told that there was very little difference between the 105 and RX100 except for the finish but I am not sure about that.

I just got my girlfriend a bike with Tiagra, which would supposedly be the modern equivalent. The brand new Tiagra shifters aren't nearly as smooth or sturdy as my old stuff (which has many thousands of miles on it).

I've also heard (but just on these forums) that RX100 was mainly from the same production molds as 105, but 105 just had that muted sparkly gold and slightly greenish paint job - specifically 105 SC at the time. I suspect there were a few actual differences between the gruppos - I seem to remember the small chainring on the RX100 double crank was steel, whereas with 105SC it was aluminum.

I'm curious (and somewhat dubious) about the way(s) in which Tiagra feels less "sturdy" than RX100, and whether that indicator has the ability to say/imply anything at all about build quality.

Thanks for the responses. This groupo is pretty much where I thought it would be. Long term I would like to replace the downtube shifters with brifters, but for now I just want to get this bike on the road.
