What are the advantages of Disc Brakes as opposed to factory brakes. ive seen alot of adds for brakes containing disc rotors, are they hard to install?

Thanks!

The "Not a Happy Camper Thread" over here (http://216.215.238.193/showthread.php?threadid=2220&perpage=15&pagenumber=2) has morphed into a discussion about discs.

In short, better braking, especially in wet and muddy conditions. More expesive, less maintenance, heavier. These are all generalizations by the way.

As far as installation - I can't answer that one, but you have to have the proper hubs and frame/fork mounts to make the switch.
