Classic & Vintage - Rack for a Schwinn 3 speed

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I searched a little bit and couldn't find specific suggestions. I have a canary yellow Schwinn that I picked up used, with nice chrome fenders and all that, but no rack. I'm hoping someone has some suggestions for a rack that would look good on the rear, I'm tired of sweaty-back when I ride into classes.

The OEM Schwinns are-a-plenty ...

You can find a Pletscher (sp?) -- who built many of the Schwinn alloy racks -- easily as well. Be careful you get one the right size. You can find them used for a buck at a garage sale or for (I would think) $20 at the most for NOS on eBay.

Beauty, thanks for the info
Another one that I like, and is similar the Schwinn ones that Bob posted is the Pletscher. These also seem to be easy to come by either new or used. Check with your local bike shop if you don't want to take the time to cruise the thrift shops and garage sales.
