:D Today I went on my first ride of the year, and it was a very good one. Actually it was fantastic, not only was I able to take the hills with more speed, but I made it up a hill that was such a problem last year.:D I even saw three chipmunks, two cardinals, and one groundhog. The more wildlife I see the better the ride. I am really glad I spent lots of time in the gym, I felt much stronger on my bike, and was able to move at a faster pace than last year.

It was like cyclists' day on the WOD, I think a few people called in "sick" today. Most of us were saying good morning and smiling. I managed to do 21.5 miles, I wanted to do 30 but I have a tennis match tonight. I hope Friday is just as awesome.

Anyway I am seriously stoked about the hills and wanted to share. I Love Cycling!

:D

Glad you had a good ride--a reward for all the time in the gym. I've managed to ride through the winter here in the St. Louis area, with only a few stretches of about two weeks each when it was either too cold or too wet for me. Saturday the temps were in the upper 70s F, so I got in a ride without all the layers.

Great job! I just got back on my bike and I have a noticable drop that I must get started recovering from.

I just got back on my bike and I have a noticable drop that I must get started recovering from. Ahhhh! I rode ALL winter long. I got my "base miles" in already! Last year I had to spend 2 months getting back to the level I was at the previous September. But this year I'll it's all improvement.

I loafed in front of the computer most of the winter, though I did manage to get out a few times. Did a little 6-mile ride yesterday. It left me a bit tired, but nothing sore or stiff, so I imagine I should be able to get back into commuting shape without anything like the lengthy build-up phase it took my first year.
