Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Need explicit instructions for posting picture

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I looked at a ton of the posts in the sticky thread, but it's just a bunch of people testing, no instructions really.
I have a mac. I did copy the addresses of 2 pictures into my post, but you can't click on them.
Also, how do you get the picture itself up, not just the link?
I don't think anyone could tell what I'm doing wrong by looking at the post, but its in Commuter Forum: What do you guys look like anyway? My post is on page 5.
Edit: I found the attachement paper clip (I usually do a quick reply, and I don't think it has the paper clip). But now it's saying the file is too big.
Any solution to that

If it says the file is too large, the image is too large in consumption. This can be rectified by making it smaller, or decreasing quality. My recommendation is that you use an image hosting website such as Photobucket or Imageshack to host your stuff, and then simply use the Insert Image button to insert the image. I have COmcast for an ISP, they give 250MB of web storage space. I use this to host all of my images, your ISP may have hosting as well.
Two ways. To upload from your computer the file should ideally be in jpg format and <100kb. Click on "go advanced" below the message edit box, then scroll way down and click on "manage attachments." Browse to find the file, click on "upload" and then close the upload window when done and save the message.
To create a link to a picture on the internet, visit the picture, right click on it (at least for PCs...I don't know for sure on Macs) select "properties", find the picture's web address ("http://etc."), highlight and copy it. Go back to your BF message edit box, click on the little yellow mountain icon above the edit box, and paste the picture's address in the dialogue box. Save the message.
Or, if you want to copy the picture's whole address (http://etc) into your message, do so, but be sure to precede it by {img} and follow it by {/img} but use these: [ ] instead of these: { }

If the picture you want to post is already on the web, copy the URL.
Click on the image above the text entry box.
Paste the URL into the text box. Make sure that html:// is not duplicated in the address.
Click on the OK button.
Click on the Submit button
Just looked at your post in the other thread:
+1 I can't believe it's starting to get dark so early already. Don't get home from commute until 6:30, so I was starting to wonder about extra visibility, and that looks awesome!
I'll try to send a pic soon, if I can figure it out. Otherwise the best I could do is a link to family photo website.
Darn it, sorry. Might try later.[/CODE]
