It ain't a Raleigh (it is a '61, though, according to the TCW hub).
The headbadge is missing, but the chainring is all wrong (pic of similar ring attached).
The frame appears to be very much like a '61 Sports (right side BB oiler with plastic cover, braze on for chaincase, the little opening in the rear dropout, etc.) But the pump pegs are bolt on rather than braze on, so it has to be one of the lower tier, dunnit?
It's been sort of badly painted over, but the headtube between the lugs appears to have been gold, while the frame itself was (and remains) black. The *two* rivets that held the missing headbadge are about 2-2.5" apart, which rules out a whole bunch of Raleigh names (many appear to have had 3 rivets).
This is a winter project and I've got it in my head that it would look nicer with a headbadge and some decals/stripes when I'm done. I've half a mind to graft on a Norman or Hercules or whatever headbadge and tart it up just so, but thought I might as well poke around and see if I could find a matching chainring on anything '61-ish first. (the chainring pic came from a completed e-bay auction for a "Greyhound" FWIW.)
