i had a custom frame built for me in the spring. i love the bike. it looks good and it fits and rides great. but...something has me bummed. the distance between the rear drops is 132 mm (this is a mtn bike style and uses 26" wheels). should be 135. 3mm may not sound like much but it makes for a bear of a job refitting the rear wheel after servicing and flat repair. it becomes a 3 handed job. the builder has offered to cover the shipping to get it back so he can re set it. a pain to strip it down and package it up and send it. what is it he would do and is it likely to be permanently sucessful? I worry that it might weaken the bends in the chain stays.

any thoughts? thx.

what's it made of? If it's steel you can do it yourself, if it's aluminium, carbon, wood or glass I'd suggest getting the builder to take care of it.

How made the frame? Can you take it to them to fix it?

its steel. what is the process? the builder is saying that this is the solution. he will take it back and do the work and will cover the shipping costs. I should get it done.
