Another question came up during my Witcomb ressurection.

Is there some type of adapter needed on the cable stop that is on top of the chain stay for the rear derailluer shifter cable? It seems like the cable housing ferrule can move around quite a bit back there. I am used to the under the stay stops that the ferrule slides into for retention. I don't have any pics, but I can take some later this evening when I get home to help explain what I am talking about.

Can someone please straighten me out?

A pic will help. There are a couple different styles/sizes of the "step-down" ferrules that have smaller diameter necks that fit into the stop, you may not have the correct one. Or you may have a stop that is custom made by Witcomb and is not any common standard size. If so, you'll have to find the closest ferrule and modify it to fit, or modify the stop to fit the ferrule...usually that only involves some filing or drilling.

Either that (if you want AL) or a similar model #DC-B92 in steel, or you might need one with a 5mm "neck" such as #SH-60B0004, measure the hole in the left side of the cable stop and see if it's 4mm or 5mm.

Thanks for all the great help! It's 4mm, so I ordered the #DC-B93 from loosescrews.com. (along with a host of other goodies...that is a great site!)
