Hello,

I'm researching the possibility of building a new large steel Nashbar MTB (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=130&subcategory=1176&brand=&sku=14736&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat:%20Frames/Bikes) using componenets sourced from a Trek 6500 MTB (1999-2002) with a smallish frame
Is there any way to see if the headset/cranks/fork, etc. (essentially everything) can be switched over?

Thanks.

Probably would have compatible components, it's not that old, and it's a mountain bike to a mountainbike. Cranks if they are from a smaller bike would be expected to be shorter than for a bigger bike, you would at least need to check the crank centre to centre legth that would robably be 175 ish on a large frame. I've never owned an MTB with front suspenssion, but whenever I have looked at possible forks there always seem to be a lot of different lengths...
