bmx vs cruiser

i started riding bmx a couple months ago and it's wayy better than mnt biking, but, since im 6'5" 200lb my aluminum free agent eluder is just too sketchy to dirt jump. i got the bike just for a temporary 150$ ride untill i cuold fix my mnt bike but now im considering either getting a cruiser or a new bmx, i feel pretty good on a bmx, but i think that a cruiser would be way more stable in the air and an allround smoother ride... i know the 24" would be pretty nice on the dirt, but whats street like on a cruiser? i learned 3's on my eluder, whats it like spinning a cruiser?

A cruiser is not nearly as flickable, but it can be done.

of course it can be done. if you've tried bmx and mtb but are still thinking about a 24 I say go for it, you already know what you like/dont like about both. there are good cruisers out there which aren't aluminum frames intended for racing. if you've seen the trends in mountain bikes you know lots of people are running 24s these days. my only question is why they haven't discovered that cruisers are WAY cheaper.

alright thanks for the advice, im probably gunna look into getting the general lee 24 once my collarbone heals and i can work again :( its funny, i beat the crap outta that little Eluder and im a big guy, but i still broke before it did.

Bender is a gimmick, he only throws himself off of cliffs and half the time he doesnt land it, but I will say he has some skill. Berrecloth switch to mountianbiking from BMX because it was to hard on him-wimp.

As long as you're not saying that someone who rides DH with a 24" rear tire and discs/suspension is a wimp. I'll agree that you don't need suspension for urban riding. As far as discs go, you're more likely to bend a 24" wheel riding urban - at least you can still ride home with the wheel all bent to crap.

I also race DH in the summer, but I cant stand to see kids at the skatepark playing in the bowls, and on the ramps getting in my way on mountian bikes.

No, but I ride my cruiser on the street. My 13 year old daughter rides an X3 with me.
