Foo - Butts in Cycling Shorts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Does anyone find cycling gear on people attractive? I find the "I crapped my pants look" to be pretty much unflattering on everyone....
I often think.. wow, I bet they look great in normal clothes. ALthough, I am attracted to people in cycling clothes because I know they cycle... its a paradox really.

i don't think i've ever seen any cyclists that have a "i crapped my pants" look. Most cyclists wear tight clothese that conform to their toned body

Personally, I'd rather see an attractive woman wearing a thin coat of baby oil than any cycling outfit. But that's probably just me.
Perhaps you haven't seen one of the most frequently reposted pics from recent SoCal BikeForums rides. The original post is here (http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=2839522&postcount=20). The pic is below. (Yes, that's me right in front of them, on my Roubaix's final group ride. No, that's not why this pic gets posted so often.

I beg to differ. Men look great in cycling shorts. You pretty much can spot a true bull if you're looking at just the right angle.

A group pic of a certain team. A team from europe, dare I say?
Umm, I thought that pic was of the front side. Isn't this thread about the back side?

goes the other way too. very skinny people don't look that good either.
most bike clothing just shows people what kind of body you have. the better the body the better you'll look. other than the padding, it's basically one step away from being naked.

Ever heard the term "Grower or show-er"? Some feature compact storage, others don't, basicaly X can go from 1 to 7 while Z goes from 5 to 6. Just can't tell which is which untill it's go time, Z would be better for spandex and streaking, but X may be better for other purposes.
See also, related terms: "Shrinkage" and "River d**k".
My wife, while not being a cyclist, has certainly come around to the idea of me walking around in my cycling shorts.

I promised I wouldn't write about the woman I was drafting behind on last Sunday's century.... I lied.
While it was wonderful to get pretty much a free ride into a 15-20 mph headwind, the tradeoff was that her lycra had achieved pretty much screen-door status due to its straining to contain the goods. :o
She was a damn site faster than the skinny wannabes like me. Most of us look pretty goofy in roadie garb.

I'm so lost... Look, shrinkage or otherwise, bike shorts look good on men. That's my opinon, and I'm sticking to it. So, put the shorts on, boys, and PULL me through the wind (even if there isn't any). ;)

A few of my buddies I often ride with become homophobic when it comes to seeing me ride in spandex.
Whatever.
When I pull ahead of them during a climb I yell back "HAY GUUUYS! How do my calves look? I know my ass must look GREAT from there!"

It follows the Skier Clothing Corollary: If they look good in the gear, they're gonna look good out of it.

I have a pair of Pearl Izumi shorts with a pad so thick that they definitely give the load in the pants look.

Going by the pics we've all seen of you, yeah. You don't have anything to worry about.
And to the 'diaper' comments, that has to do with the brand, too. I just bought a pair of Adidas bib tights, and yeah, the chamois in those things IS a diaper. Not so with my Performance Ultras, or Santinis. Don't want a diaper? Try them on first. :)

You should be a very proud owner of a 40 year old body, not just the butt. I hope I'm in comparably good shape in 13 years' time.
