I can wake up at 5am and go the whole day with no caffeine. That puts me +1 on all of you.

And that answers "My favorite coffee is...." how?

Just got back from Italy. Miss the coffee.
I often get Green Mtn Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.
I use a French Press, I've had it with drips.
Tried the crap coffee once, you know the stuff that comes
out the butt of a cat? Didn't like it.

If coffee is God, decaf is the Anti-Christ. :D

Has anyone tried the Kopi Luwak coffee that's been passed through the monkey??? At $280/lb, it had better be an orgasmic experience. :)

Yes, I didn't like it. It's not like anything you have ever had.
I imagine someone must like it; I mean, look at the price.
But if it was $2.89 like Maxwell House I'd take the Maxwell House over it.

And it ain't because I don't like trying new ****

Hey, if Pheard can make it without coffee, good for him!

Caffine doesn't seem to affect me. I've had a 20-24 oz coffee before bed and had no trouble sleeping.

Currently it is Starbucks House Blend I am brewing at home. I use their Espresso Blend when making Lattes at home. I prefer a Dark Roast or Latin American blends mostly.

Stewarts Coffees is a Chicago based company with some mighty find blends too.

Later.

Counter Culture's current crop of Huehuetenango from Guatemala, ground fresh just before brewing, and brewed with a stovetop espresso maker. Mmmm, mmm. Every morning.

None. I sometimes drink coffee when I visit family and they have it. Other than that, I am caffeine free.

No offense but Starbucks is sooooooo overrated & it's totally hideous! Try Peet's, I'm sipping on "SUMA DAT" as we speek, you won't regret.

I can too. :) I drink coffee because its a pleasure...not because I'm dependant. :)

None taken. Taste is subjective AND I like Starbucks Burnt Beans AND it is easy to get when I am out and about. You dont and that is your choice and opinion on Starbucks.

Oddly enough I finally tracked down some Peet's yesterday. Picked up some Major Dickason and House Whole Beans. Brewed up the Major this morning and it was most outstanding. Later.

Anyone ever roast their own coffee-beans with a popcorn-popper?

No, but guess what I'm trying tonight!

Yeah, it's pretty easy and you end up with just as light or as dark of a roast as you want.

Some people have added a switch to their popcorn popper to turn off the heater, but keep the blower going so it can cool the coffee after roasting as well. :)

Hey now, I don't drink coffee every day. :) Just when I feel like it. :p Actually I think one of the best things in the morning to get you going is a nice piece of fresh fruit. Apple, banana, or *dates* are a great way to start a day. :D All those natural sugars are a great source of immediate energy! :) So delicious, too.

I feel fairly confident that the best coffee in Sydney, and the best I've tasted is at Campos Coffee. They make it best there, but sell the beans too. I buy 'Superior' and grind them at home. I have a battered old espresso machine.

I only drink espresso. It's like, when you've had crack, normal cocaine just doesn't cut it anymore.

Just spent two weeks in Thailand, couldn't find a decent coffe anywhere. Nearly ruined my holiday. I am hopelessy addicted.

I just bought coffee at Dunkin Donuts. The cup says, "Best of Boston, As awarded by Boston Magazine's Best of Boston 2006"
