Foo - Random place for this but.... How to get DVD into Itunes on a Mac?

Ok. I have recently downloaded itunes 7. So i want to get some of my dvd's to load into my itunes library and then onto my ipod. I rip them into a single file using MacTheRipper then Take them down to a .mov using movies4myIpod. Then i attempt to add folder. example elf.mov. Short file name and correct dimensions and file extension.

I get no response. No error message or anything. Just nothing happens.

So i try one of the all in one ripper/sizer programs. HandBrake. Again a no-go. Have sucesfully ripped but not imported to itunes 7 dvd's. I also tried with a few videos... Music videos. Same thing. No response. Nothing happens when i try to add to library/import/ or drag to library.

If any of you mac wiz'es know whats up let me know. I have also tried all of the filoms in .mpeg4 also just to double check in h.264 also.

If any of you mac wiz'es know whats up let me know. I have also tried all of the filoms in .mpeg4 also just to double check in h.264 also. There are two separate independent factors you have to keep straight. First is the actual compression-format used for the data itself, such as MPEG2, DIVX, MPG4, H264, etc. Then there's the container file format that encompasses the data, such as AVI, MPG, MOV, MP4, etc. Check out ffmpegX (http://www.ffmpegx.com/). Has some pre-sets for iPod and pretty much all other formats. I actually go the other way around and use it to convert downloaded AVI movies up to MPEG2 and burn 4-5 movies onto one DVD. :)

The new universal-binary compilation for the new Intel-based Macs runs blazingly fast, does about 100-120fps to convert a movie at 4x real-time speed. :)

Maybe try QuickTime Pro?

I suppose I would consider myself one. :) This is the first Truffaut film I have seen. I didn't realize there was a series. :) I really love older foreign films...Post War Era Italian films are some of the best I have seen.

So what you are saying is that my two programs running independently are not working in the same format. I actualy have ffmpegx. I have attempted to use it with de-coded dvd's. It has the same difficulty with importing into iTunes.

And i do love the encoding speed and overall performance of my new macbook.
