I start rush this week and I want to make a good impression on a frat. My problem is I sweat pretty nicely in the pits. I've tried a few anti-perspirants but they all come up short after an hour o so and I get some dampness, not something I want for socials or impressing people. Anyone able to nominate a good wet blocker for me that never lets them down?

What products have you tried? This will prevent people frm suggesting things you have already used.

Old Spice Red Zone.

You won't be able to get wet while taking a shower, serious!

I use my wife's antiprespirant and it works great. It's Secret. Strong enough for a man, so I use it.

Ban used to make a pump anti-perspirant that was great, and the main ingregient in that is the same as the Old Spice Red Zone: aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex. A lot of others use aluminium chlorohydrate, or aluminum chloride, which are not as effective in my opinion.

I had this same problem in college, the pits thing, not the Frat. GDI all the way. Anyways, after trying everything on the face of the earth, I finally went to my doctor and he hooked me up with some prescription antiperperant. You put it on before you go to bed and once in the morning. You will need to still use some deoderent because this stuff smells like a commercial bonding agent. I used that for a couple of years, and the problem went away.

+1 for Mitchum --and I pit like a Black Flag concert. I also trim my underarms with clippers, it really helps with the sweating and the smell (and the ladies like a little bit of manscaping).

If you want pure aluminum zic, whatever the hell its called, instead of .5% like they have in deoderant, saw open a filter dryer from an air conditioning system. Granted it could kill you, but it would offer the ultimate in odor protection!

I usually pick the deorderant with the coolest sticker on the front, you should try it.

Use # 4,812 for duct tape.

And if you didn't seriously consider superdex's suggestion of shaving the pits, now would be a good time to do so.

I don't know if it was that one or not.

If some of you are not aware, there are health concerns surrounding antiperspirants, that's no joke.

Shaving the pits helps too.

Yep shave it off.. may not stop the trickle.. but it'll stop the smell for sure. It can almost be said to be a scientific proven fact now..

I swing dance a lot. I've given up the fight against sweatin' but have won the fight against smellin' - I use those crystals and trim. The crystal lasts for months and is a type of salt that kills the bacteria. Best part is that I used to have to throw away my shirts because the deoderant would rub off and stain them through - not anymore.

Undershirts are useful too.

well, since the cause of BO is bacteria feasting on apocrine sweat[1], if you trim the hair in that area* there's less of a home for the little beasties to hang out. I've noticed this from personal experience, i.e. letting things grow out and whoo! Dexie has some BO that is NOT attractive. YMMV...
