I recently purchased a used road bike with Campagnolo Moskva 80 rims, and one of the spokes on the front wheel is loose. I am not able to tighten it-the spoke just turns with the nipple and then turns back to the original position. Does that mean the nipple is frozen to the spoke, or that it's out of adjustment? What can I do to fix it?

I've done some minimal wheel truing, but I don't have much experience with spokes.

thx, Eric

Try to replace the niple and see in the spoke tightens. if the niple is frozen on the spoke, just cut the spoke and replace it.

Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can loosen the nipple.

Apply some light oil or Liquid Wrench to the threads. Hold the spoke so that it is not able to turn as you tighten the nipple. There are special pliars for holding spokes but I just use normal plaiars on stainless spokes.

No luck holding the spoke. I'm just going to replace it. Thanks for the help.
