Hey everyone,

I'm trying to weigh the differences between these two bikes and was hoping to get some of your "expert" opinions.

If I decide to convert to discs once the New England winter hits hard, the disc tabs on the Conquest are a big upside,

I'm also considering the Scott Cyclocross Team, for around $200 more.

Any thoughts on the components, etc of both bikes would be greatly appreciated.

The ride/feel seem equal to me, so the quality of the bike will tip the scale. If it ends up that those are equal, then I gotta go with the Scott - far cooler paint job.

Thanks

I got an 07 Conquest about a month or so ago, and im absolutley loving it (especially the paint thank you :p ). I thought about the scotts as well, but something was pulling me toward the redline, so i went with that (i had to order whatever i was getting). The Scotts are awesome too, either way you're gonna have a great bike, especially cause spec-wise you're getting almost exactly the same thing. So if you like the paint better, shoot for a Scott, then get out and ride!

I think I would go with the SCOTT team. The carbon front fork is a nice upgrade. I also dig the wheel set. The REDLINE is also sweet. I think I like the RL frame more. You could also check out the Van Dessel. It's around 2,200... I'd drop the extra cash if I could (i can't).

Yeah, the one thing that both the Scotts have that the/my redline doesnt is the carbon fork, but i've not missed it (i've never had a cross or road bike before, so maybe i dont know what im missing...)

thanks for the feedback. much appreciated. yo, captmatt - the paint is growing on me with the redline. it's a good look, a solid 2nd place!

also, good point sfcrossrider about the carbon fork. that is a nice upgrade.

i'm yet to decide, which bike - there are too many damn options in cyclocross, but i'll pick something up this weekend. thought i had narrowed it down, but there's always yet another bike to test ride.

someone's gotta start a straight up vote on all bikes within a certain bike range, for racing that is. it would be interesting to see the results.

onwards....
