Looking at a C'dale being auctioned right now...

It's a three year old R600, and has 24 spoke Gipiemme Techno wheels.

Are these strong enough for a 210 pound guy? I have a touring rig for rougher roads or loaded riding, this would be for smoother paths and training etc.

Any experiences good or bad to report? They are 24 spoke with 8 sets of three spokes per wheel, both front and back.

I am a 230 pounder riding a Cannondale R600 with the 24 spoke Techno. I have ridden approximately 2000 miles. Rear wheel was trued once after a short period. Broke one rear spoke later. Today I dropped off the rear wheel to be replaced the wheel tore and one spoke is about to come out of the wheel and all the other center spokes on the sets of three have cracked the wheel where they go through. Hope you get better life than I did!
