+1 - My rustang ended up getting me my wife....literally...she overheard me say that I drove a Mustang at a party and thought to herself, "oooo...I think I like this guy...he's got a nice car..."
Little did she know it was a 10 year old, rusting out, 2.3L notch-back that leaked directly onto you when it rained. I could have kept goldfish in the puddles on the back floorboards....
She got that and I got a chick who likes men for their cars...we're even.

Mustangs aren't cool everywhere. Especially if they don't say Shelby, Roush, or Saleen. Everybody has one.

....well there are the sleepers as well.
There's more that can be done to a 2.3l without a turbo than you would think....and with some creative work elsewhere ont he car, it can be made into an incredibly potent ride.
Nice stock look to keep her parents from thinking you are the derelict you aspire to be, and enough oomph to make your kidneys beg for mercy.

The most surprising thing is that you could ride a nice bike to high school and not have it stolen or vandalized.

you can't
I got my first nice bike (03 spec sirrus) stolen in the first 9 weeks of school my freshman year.
Got the Allez with the insurance and got special premission from the principal to store my bike in a storage/fuse room outside the gym.
funny thing is that principal retired and he was the only one who knew i had a key, and they are in the process of remodeling the school and im pretty sure that door will now be connected to the weight room.
So i have a key to the school and no one knows about it.

School locks are no big deal. You can always unscrew the striker plate so the door will never be locked, and if you are inside already, you can lock or unlock the doors with a 4mm or 5/32 allen wrench.

Yup, like throw it in the trash and drop in a 5.0. 300 bucks at the junkyard, tops.

That screws your F/R weight ratio though....fine if all you want is a drag car, but if you actually want a car which can outhandle a BMW on the twisties, you need a lighter engine. If you had the bank, for a while Ford had a 2.3l 4-banger meant for dirt racing. Just bolt the intake manifold from a 87-93 on it to get some extra oomph. The intake manifold on those cars were not legal for dirt racing due to the way they were ported from the factory.
This was the reason the SVO mustang had a 2.3l turbo, because they could not get a 5.0 equipped mustang to outhandle the M3 of the time.
That's also the reason why the 289 cobra was a more favored car for track racing, while the 427 was more of a dragstrip king....well that and the 427 was actually too much engine for that chassis.

Thats a cool bike for a school commuter. I was thinking of taking my fixed to school, but I am only a freshman.. . .it would get killed. I took my roadie last year, and most people loved it.

My dad used to know a guy who managed to fit a 427 into a pinto. That crazyness came to an abrupt end when he sailed into a tree with it.
