Are 2.3mm spokes considered thick?

I got a pair of wheels both with 2.3mm spokes and they do look a bit thicker but that could be that i THINK they look thicker...

Yeah, 2.0 is the thickest 'standard' spoke generally.

What kind of wheels are these and are the spokes round or bladed?

The common road and MTB wheel round spokes are 2.0 mm (aka 14 ga) or 1.8 mm (15 ga.) and a combination of these called double butted (2.0/1.8/2.0). There are also a few specialized spokes with even thinner center sections of 1.7 mm. Bladed spokes are wider in one axis than the other.

If your 2.3 mm spokes are round they are probably "13 gauge", which may be used on DH, BMX and possibly touring bikes for their extra strength.

Yeah they're round, thanks for explaining what there used for. i got a 26" one cheapo hub and rim and a 28" one with a cheapo rim and nexus inter 4 hub. both rims are Al double wall though.
