The next step in my evolution as a triathlete is to get aerobars for my Trek 2000. Who has experience with some of the clip-on areobars on the market? And should I get the kind you can easily install and remove, or just get a new set of bars with permanent aeros?

I plan on getting an inexpensive (not cheap :p ) set of clip on aerobars just to try them out first. :)

I have a Cervelo Dual with the Vision Tech clip-on aero bars and I really haven't had any problems with them. The only problem I ever had was that they weren't tight enough after I adjusted them and moved a little bit, but only took a little elbow grease to tighten up. Plus they're cheaper (less expensive) than the integrated aero bars. I have heard though that some handlebars are tricky in terms of getting the clip-ons on. I guess it comes down to personal preference and how much you want to spend.

My trek 1200, which I rode for 18 years, had Profile for Speed clip-ons. I bought a Madone 5.2 6 weeks ago, and it has the clip on Profile AirStrykes.

I love them!!

Want another set (AirStrykes)? I bought them new over a year ago and never installed them.

I guess I could put them on the old bike!

Did you go with another brand?
