Hi,

As someone who's aiming to take part in his first PBP next year, there are some long run (pun intended) arrangements to consider.

Someone at my club mentioned sleeping as close to Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines as possible. Preferably in the Gymnase des Droits de l'Homme itself. :)

My guess is that if there are any rooms available they will either be needed to be booked well in advance, or have the highest price I've ever payed for a hotel room.

I'd like to hear from experienced PBP'ers about your sleeping arrangements.
Should I start worrying? What are the options? Where did you book a hotel? Did you keep the room for the duration of the ride?
How hard would it be to have a room in Paris, and use the RER?

No, you shouldn't start worrying about it yet. Wait till next spring!!

If you're in the US, RUSA will take care of most of the arrangements for you, from what I've heard.

If you're in Canada, your club will get together with one or two other clubs in Canada and book a hotel together. Last time Ontario, Manitoba, and some of Saskatchewan went together on a hotel. BC and Alberta went elsewhere. Also last time, the hotel took care of all our stuff.

Camping is another viable option too.

So ... relax! :)
