I shipped my Klein Quantum 02 from Seattle to Houston using FedEx Ground. When I opened the box, the down tube had several dents in it. I've filed a claim (I insured it for $2000), but now I have a new problem - what to buy? The 03 Klein Quantums have a compact geometry.

Anyone riding an 03 Klein? Any thoughts on the Carbon Kleins? Are they all carbon or is the frame still aluminum alloy with carbon forks? (I read the Klein website, but it seems confusing to me.)

What is the difference in feel with carbon versus aluminum?

Has anyone had experience filing a claim with FedEx for a damaged bike?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

As long as there is visible damage on the outside of the box, and you have proper packing (according to fedex), you should not have any problmes with the claim.

I hope FedEx is better at insurance than UPS. I spent almost everyday trying to solve a claim with UPS for over a month. Still no check and seems paper work gets lost. I will not give up. I have lost too many frames and I will not be denied anymore.

FedEx may be easier as they tend to charge more for packages to cover this. Make sure you save everything until you get the claim solved.Just because they said it is OK do not discard anything. I learned that leasson the hard way.
