The stock shimano ones werent. I think that the new BB and both sides of the crank were lighter than the one chainring side of the stock shimano

just 1 question, why did you go for the sperate arms and internal BB crank set instead of the external BB and arms ?

Looking nice!
Please tell me the Tektro levers are the next to be swapped out. The bike is far too good for them

Well truth is that I was avoiding that question because....well I'm not very proud of myself right now. It occured to me as I started putting the rockhopper frame together that I really until now hadnt really paid much attention to what size the frame was. And imagine...as if I need one more reason for John Galt to call me an idiot. The frame was a 21 inch and I am only 5 foot 10 and it felt really...really big. My hardrock was also a 21 inch frame. Turns out the LBS where I got my hardrock from almost 8 years ago just sold it to me on closeout and didnt size me correctly, so All these years of mountain biking with a really big bike and never thinking that the bike was too big, I just thought that the bike wasnt nimble and I had to get better to compensate. Start reading and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah smaller.....what a concept!

lol... sorry to hear about that... not using a rockhopper frame! where'd it go though? you returned it?
anyway, how much does that trek frame cost? looks great... just wondering how you can get current, new, "lower-end" frames, b/c i thot big bike manufacturers only sell their frames at higher levels ex. stumpjumper carbon frame, m5 frame, enduro sx trail, sl, demo, etc. and not hardrock and rockhopper and p. series frames.
