Introductions - hello from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I started seriously mountain biking last year and have decided to become a commuter this year. I want to sell my car!!!
Found this site while looking around on the net for any commuting info I could find and am always interested in learning more about mountain biking too!

Great to have another Edmontonian on board!
Finally some good riding weather, eh? Although the snow (and then mud) won't be off the trails for another few weeks, we are well on the way. Went riding for the first time yesterday and then again today - felt great!
Where do you do your serious riding?
For three seasons I commute and do lots of riding - its amazing how quick you can get from point a to point b in this city using the bike routes and the river valley. Edmonton is a good cycling city.

Welcome quefire. This is a great site for the serious cyclist. Glad to see you are joining the commuting world.
Hockey:)
Hello,
Good to see a second Edmonton thread going. Today a thread, tomorrow a forum. Anyway...
My bicycle is almost road worthy again after a nasty deraileur mishap tha's cost me $175 so far. I was all ready to slap my chain back on and roll until I found it was oddly twisted and my rear wheel had a bit of a wobble.
Do any of you locals know of a decent place to have a roadie wheel trued for a reasonable price?
The last time I had a good trueing job done was at the old George's on Whyte. That wheel hasn't wobbled since. Sometimes change is bad.:)

welcome!
if you haven't already check out the commuting section where there is lots of info including stuff on making the transition to car-limited or even car-free! plus stretegies for equipment, parking, changing, etc.
Spring is here in full force in Munich although the best mountain trails are still buried under snow... doing my 2nd trail ride of the year this weekend! and going to Lake Garda Italy for a 4-day Easter MTB weekend!
