actually some random guy at a party tonight broke it...
I was sitting on a couch with my boyfriend and some guy started screaming about ******s, I told him to watch his mouth, then a bunch of people pushed him out of the house and shut the door. (not welcome in a gay-friendly party) The guy punched a window out and walked across the street, me and a bunch of people crowded out to see where he went because we were calling the cops. Then his friend came up on me and assumed a "fighting" stance. I wasn't playing along, just standing there, and he punched me in the face. My glasses are broken, there's blood all over my favorite party clothes, my nose is broken, I spent the night in the hospital, and I can't see well enough to go on the cycling clubs first meet of the year in four hours.
Kind of annoying. All because I'm a ****** :(
...at least I got some painkillers out of the deal.
Maybe we can find the assclown and I'll give the MoFo a good old fasioned trannie ass whoopin! I'm sorry you had to go through this. Don't let him get you down, be true to yourself.

that's terrible, he didnt do it cause you are a "******" like you said, he did it cause he is a very insecure little person. I have much more respect for you for being who you truly are.
Im very sorry about your nose, big hug.
Wouldn't that qualify as a hate crime?

Yep. Please tell me you made a police report.

Many will say that violence is not the answer. I say...hit him back.
yep. the guys are in jail right now. and only about fifty witnesses.
basically they're screwed, and california "hate crime" law makes it super easy for me to recoup damages in court. i need new glasses, so i will.

Did he get reported to the police? I hope so.
Wow, Zinn-X, that's awful. More than that, it's really sad :(. Hope your nose heals up quickly, and that the "assclown" (thanks, Stacey) gets run over by a cement truck or something.

The glasses r the least of your damages, I hope you sue them into abject poverty.

Sorry to hear this Zinn. It truly sucks.
I live in a smallish town in Indiana, not exactly the forefront of societal development. I have never understood the the zealous hatred of gay people. I am not gay, therefore some people have never been shy about spewing their venom about the "godd*mn ******s" in my presence (never more than once mind you). It makes me sick.
I sincerely feel for you.

Keep your head up, Zinn. For you, the pain will pass in a couple of days. For them, this will be on their records for life.

Speaking of records for life, Zinn-X, if you wanted to post them, mugshots are typically available from state webpages.

Somewhere, somehow, he will reap the rewards of his crop of pain and bull****. Perhaps those two cretins have future husbands waiting in the wings (like east wing, cellblock H).
Wow, that's terrible. But at least you got pain killers, pain killers rock! Get well soon!

Don't wish that until the guy coughs up money for Zinn's glasses, medical bills, pain & suffering, etc.

Sorry to hear that zinn, but figure on them getting to be someone's b!tch if they see prison time. And learn how to defend yourself. Someone takes an aggressive fighting stance, you should get into a defensive posture so you can duck and move out of their way.

I agree. I also think you should be willing to hurt someone to protect yourself. Some of these people are dangerous, and won't stop just because you aren't defending yourself. You could get killed taking the high road. If someone comes at me in an aggressive manner, I will, shall we say, take away their ability to attack for my own safety. I have that responsibilty to my family.

At the risk of pissing a bunch of people off like the last time I encouraged someone to be armed after having her nose broken, I agree that you should arm yourself. A taser would be perfect.

These things are nasty. No permanent damage, but they hurt worse than being shot according to most people who have experienced both.
Michigander's solution to every problem...guns! How much does a taser like that cost?
Michigander

Hey, it beats having a hospital visit or worse.
A good modern taser is 500 bucks or so.

How terrible. I'm glad he's in jail.

I bought 1 for my wife, the handle type for 150. It uses the same cartridges. The carts run about $25 each and r good for 1 shot. Not cheap but it could be a life saver.
Hmmm, this thread makes me want a PPK and a CCW
Taser would be cool too.
Michigander
09-24-06, 01:35 PM
A PPK? Thats a pea shooter.
Yeah, I want something teeny with bullets that wouldn't travel well for indoors (apartment, don't wanna hurt the neighbors). If I had a car I'd get something bigger to keep in it or for hiking.
I'm really sorry it happened but really glad that you nailed those ffckers.

A .45 won't overpenetrate, even with FMJ's. Great all around cartridge. Plus you can get some tiny little .45's these days.
So they make tiny 45s that you can get (essentially) indoor and outdoor cartriges for them? Now you are making me want one! I was going to wait until I didn't have roommates though. Or maybe I should just get a safe.
You are evil.
Michigander
09-24-06, 01:52 PM
Screw special purpose ammo. Its a rip off. Use military grade 230 grain FMJ's with .45's. They feed great, there plenty devastating, and the wall will stop them after they plow through a bad guy's vital organs.
As for a safe, I use a homedepot greenlee box. At 250 bucks they are a bargain, because they are more secure than a thousand dollar gun safe.
By the way, my appologies about hyjacking the thread:o
Lauren... you fear of over penetration can be allayed by using frangible ammo (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/frangible.htm) :D Now, what's your excuse?
Is the greenlee box fire proof as well? Then I could keep what little important paperwork I have in there too. Hmm, might go ahead and get one :)
I've wanted to take a gun safety course before I bought, but you need a gun for the course :(. Maybe I can borrow one from the parents (ooh, yeah right like my father's gonna let me borrow anything bigger than a BB gun).
Michigander
09-24-06, 02:02 PM
Its not fireproof, but unlike a small fireproof safe which my grandma kept her pistol in, theives can't simply steal the whole damn thing. A good solution might be to put a smaller fireproof safe inside of the greenlee box.
About buying a gun, there a 4 safety rules you need to know.
All guns must always be treated like they are loaded.
Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
Never have your finger on the trigger unless you intend to fire.
Always be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
And if you are worried about how a gun you might potentialy buy functions, don't be. Any gunshop in the US will make sure you know how to use a gun they sell you. Gun shops don't like law suits.
I'll have to look into safes and boxes then. My roommates might not like you much :p
Don't wish that until the guy coughs up money for Zinn's glasses, medical bills, pain & suffering, etc.
Good point.
Zinn, sorry to hear about your troubles. As a cyclist (I assume you are), use those leg muscles for a good swift kick to the nads. He'll remember it just as long as a taser shot to the chest, and you've got $500 to spend on bike goodies. Plus legs are ready for another shot instantaneously. ;)
As for the gun hijack: Taurus Tracker .357Mag would be my pick for an all around pistol. That or a Sig.

Zinn, sorry to hear about this! I don't understand why someone would be concerned how you are oriented! Not their business! I hope you slap them where they can decide if they want to be the husband or the wife to a 350 pound "Bubbah"!
All this gun talk sounds pretty bizarre from here outside the US. The assailant is a low-life bigot and he'll pay in court and out of his pocket.
lol, I don't want a gun... they're too bulky and not very aero. maybe a spray can of mace or pepper spray. but i appreciate the suggestions. i do like the idea of taking self defense classes... i think i'll sign up for aikido at my university i never thought of this but my lawyer mentioned the possibility of the guys coming after me after they get out of jail, especially if i pursue civil litigation. that's kind of scary... so i could really use some mad martial arts skills

Liberal application of a hard boot tip or cycling cleat to the immer juncture of the legs directly in front of the pineal area! (A hard swift kick in the jewels...then run like hell!)

Knife. Find out what you can carry and have that and pepper spray plus some self defense training if you don't want a gun or taser. I think in my area it's a max 3 1/2" blade that you can carry concealed. My little brother has a 4" and legally has to carry it in a belt clip so it's visible. I have a baby single blade, 2 1/2" that I carry in my backpack and use at work, but it could be an advantage in a fight if I had it in my pocket (although not being a switchblade lowers that considerably).
The best defense is knowing what you are doing. Be confident in your abilities with your protection of choice, and don't wait too late to use them.
PS I'm not a violent person. I just want to make sure that if someone tries to violate my rights or property they are the one that's hurting.

I have over six years of martial arts training under my belt. Thats 2 years of Karate, 4 years of Kung Fu, and about a year of training with these guys that use the theories of Rex Applegate, a man who wrote the combat manual in current use by the marines. I'm no accomplished fighter, I'm just a trained marial artist for what thats worth, and I've seen a few fights. I have no real world experience when it comes to street fighting, I've only done rough sparring. Still though, something I can guarantee you is that in order to become a Bruce Lee type it takes decades. Street fighting is a dirty thing where you will get hurt, perhaps badly even if you are the "winner". I'm not saying don't take martial arts classes, far from it, I'm just saying relying solely on unarmed combat skills is not something I would reccomend. Pepper spray is good, just make sure you carry 2 cans. They can and do jam.

Does not matter what religion you are or what your preferences are either. People should be respected for who they are, and no body should be disrespected becuase of their diferences. Every person is unique:).
