Mountain Biking - Stumpjumper or FSRxc?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I like the stumper because i heard it has good componets and is a great bike, but the FRS is full sespen. and ive been told to not wast money on a hardtail and get the full suspen.
other then the obvious difference what is some pros and cons on these bikes?
I race and need a new bike by next season so a good racing perfomance would be apreciated!
:)
Because i'm a big fan of hardtails, i'd advise getting the stumpy. Better fork and all around components.

I just bought a 06 FSR XC Pro and absolutely love it. It's the best of both worlds for me. Both the front fork and rear shock have lock outs so I can climb like a HT, but then I can unlock them to do some technical singletrack. IMO, you can't go wrong with either one. Test ride 'em both and see which one feels better to you.
Here's the link to the one I bought.

well if you dont mind a bumbier ride, like to go fast, and sprining past people on nicer bikes than you gets you off, i would advise the hardtail. and the stumpy is just the bees knees my friend!
