Eastern Canada - Fall ride in Toronto :)

My wife and I rode the Mimico, Eglinton, and Humber bike paths yesterday morning...the fall colours are still to come but it was great to see that so many cyclists had the same idea as us...for once there were more bikes than walkers on the path.

We stopped by the dam just north of the Old Mill and were surprised to see the number of trout and salmon that were jumping the dam on their way upstream to spawn, quite a crowd had gathered to watch and cheered every time a fish managed to jump to the next level.

Almost like a bit of cottage country in downtown Toronto...sometimes we don't realize how fortunate we are.

Sounds nice. I wish I could be as optimistic as you, though. This is my first full summer of serious cycling in 13 years, and I've come to hate Canadian weather, especially the fact that we seem to have ended summer early and will probably give fall a miss and head right into winter. If it's under 25 degrees I'm not happy on my bike. Which probably means I need to either give my head a shake, or move the heck out of Canada!

Actually, winter cycling is fun...requires a very different skill set, and that adrenellin rush when your brakes freeze up on a descent is a unique experience
