You got any connections at Shady Canyon?

No, but I look at it longingly whenever I drive by?

Paul would probably be interested in this if you wouldn't mind him joining in...

That's very true! :roflmao:

I was thinking it might be a good time to introduce himself as he plans to start attending group rides when he's ready.

Exactly! Our next OC group ride (Oct 8?), we should have a small contingent go out early with him for an hour or so before the main ride. That way, he starts getting to know the group and gets some riding in with others there to motivate him.

Oh, as for the golf thing, well, if you don't mind someone shooting 200 or so  I might join you all if I happen to be free.

I'd go to a driving range, but an actual round of golf takes me too long...

And

this is the exact reason why it takes me too long!

But an actual round is so much more interesting. You actually have to deal with the errant shots rather than just putting another ball on the ground with perfect lie and a target straight ahead. Hitting at the driving range is to playing golf as doing spin class is to riding a bike.

That said, I might be too embarassed to play outside the confines of Glendora Country Club (which some of you passed by on your way back to the cars doing GMR/GRR/Baldy). There, only the club members watch me hack away hopelessly. There's no one else to notice that I play so infrequently that I usually don't bother carrying anything longer than a 6 iron because my odds of hitting the ball straight with a longer club are so miniscule.

My wife and I need to learn. Can we treat it like miniature golf where 6 is the maximun strokes counted? :D

I have a feeling that a group of us playing an actual round of golf would be like the movie Navy Seals where they end up playing polo with the golf carts! :D

Extort do you sleep? I see posts around 12:30am, 3:00am, then again near 5:00am. What's the deal?

not last night.... now I am sitting at work buzzing on the extra caffiene from the two cups of coffee that I had at home this morning. Just couldn't sleep, so I stayed up and took care of a bunch of things.
