FYI -- Performance team members get double points at all stores, Sept 27-30. Every item, all stores. I just got the flyer in the mail.

Shop away!

I bought it somewhere else. Performance does not sell Specialized. I might have
been persuaded to buy a Felt with dble points

Don't sweat it. I'd take the Tarmac over the Felt + double points any day.

Seems like they've upped the sales on their online version too. Free shipping, 15% off on over $100; and most of the time they have better pricing than their retail shops.

That Ritchey WCS OS road handlebar is tempting. Wonder whether I'll feel better with a narrower 40cm (as per online fit calculators) as opposed to the stock 42cm that I have now...

I would say yes. I'd offer you to try out a spare 40cm bar I have (Ritchey Comp), but I don't know if you'd want to mount the shifters and tape on it, only to swap it out later for the bar your really wanted.

I recieved the on-line only sale brochure yesterday, although Ive found the store will honor the prices. I usually print out the prices from the net and take it to the store with me, save's me some money from time to time. Last weekend I did that for my Polar S150, advertised at 79.95, I get to the store and they had em marked wrong, 69.79, so I got mine for the lower price. I did notice they pulled those prices immediatly though. :D

I've seen it in their stores but it wasn't mounted, so can't tell much.

You could always buy it now, then do the swap whenever you got around to it.

FWIW, my bike came stock w/ a 40cm Ritchey bar. I tried a 42 and didn't like it and returned to a 40 (shoulders measure something like 40.5). You can try out my bike out Poway, if you want.

That's right. Sandbagger.

It connects you directly to Performance online or whatever. Instead of calling from home, you call from store and they'll ship there for free. You can also pay over the red phone or at the register.

OK, Ive never used it before, and didnt know. The employees at performance around here are horrible. Most of em dont ride at all. You pretty much have to know what ya want cause they cant answer questions, Ive tried to buy derailers from them twice just to be told they dont have any in stock.

expect to be put on hold for 20 minutes on the red phone. I wish they have the on-line order like REI which will deliver to store and save the shipping.

Oh...I know. That's why I bat my lashes and get the guy who works there to place my red phone order for me while I go upstairs and look for helmets. :p
