So I got a new '07 Pista. I like it...

So far I've ordered, but yet to receive the following:
-MKS GR9 pedals, toe-clip and straps
-Nitto RB-018 bullhorn bars

I need recommendations on what type of the following and where to get online:
-Bar tape (stupid I know, but I'm looking for white cork wrap)
-Helmet (the ones that look like bike tubes...real simple look...do you know what I'm talking about?)
-Brake lever (I don't think a tt brake will fit the RB-018 so I guess it will need to be a cyclo brake lever)
-Brake caliper (silver to keep with the chrome bike)
-Brake cables,etc.

I'd obviously like to keep the cost down on this stuff. I don't need top of the line. The brake stuff will be used until i get a little more comfortable on the bike.

Nashbar is AWESOME for most of that stuff. www.nashbar.com

Can't wait to see the finished product!

you can get the white cork wrap, a promax brake caliper, a lever, cable and housing at universalcycles.com.

as for the helmet - are you talking about the old style soft helmets? that style of helmet does not provide adequate protection.

Won't protect you for ****. Get a real helmet.

I like probikekit.com for Cinelli bar tape (free shipping and a low price). I usually just buy a foot of housing and a brake cable at my local shop. It is pretty cheap. For a brake I use an Ultegra caliper. Nashbar & Performance often sell single Shimano calipers. Really, any dual pivot will do nicely but the Shimano ones are nice.

Cross levers work nicely for fixed gears. I like the ones Salsa makes.

Thanks for the guidance guys!

+1 on the dual pivot action. If you're going to have one brake make it a good one.

the promax caliper i mentioned above is $20, comes in short or long reach, and has cartridge pads. really nice, i have them on my commuter.

That does look nice. Heck, for $8 more put some koolstops on it an I bet it would be great.

You can also just get a regular road lever and mount it on the end. CX levers look cool but they aren't the best levers and any lever by the stem if crappy if your hands are out on the horns.

I like those promax brakes, but looks like they're out of stock...any other ideas where to get those with the rest of the stuff I'm after. I hate asking this stuff, but I can't seem to find a "one-stop" shop for these last few things.

they sell out of those things and get new stock pretty quickly
