I wonder if they'd ship to UK?

Lockrings included too! Not a bad deal if you like cheap lockrings.

Alloy lockrings = poo. Otherwise, really decent hubs.

I decided to find out. That's like £10, and I don't think I could find one here for less than £60. I've ordered, lets see if they'll ship!

I asked them about 2 years back, told me they wouldn't ship to Europe.

They have an option for UK on the order, and I've also recieved a confirmation email. I'm in WaitAndSee mode.

SH*T SH*T POO! I could have tacked on a good lockring, an inner tube and a set of those bar end blinkies and gotten 15% off? I got the 10%, though. My fault for ordering in a hurry. Anyway, soon I'll be building a new set of wheels for the frame-off-getting-painted. Exciting hoo-hah.

10% off is standard for Nashbar. I wish they'd just lower the price and not have me enter a code everytime I order something. Same thing with rebates and such.

Double fixed, or fixed/free?
Description seems a bit vague...

double fixed. haven't laced one up yet, but they come with real track nuts, which is almost worth your money right there.

The description mentions freewheels. How does that work? (pardon the ignorance) Do you put the freewheel on under the lockring? I thought fixed was fixed, free was free.
from my understanding of running a freewheel on fixed/fixed: you can still lace the freewheel onto one side if you wish to use the freewheel, but dont lace a lockring on.

Lacing has nothing to do with it. You mean thread.

to use a freewheel just screw it on like a track cog and leave the lockring off. not the ideal setup (less thread engagement that a true freewheel hub) but it works.
edit: get a room you two

OK. Sounds logical enough. Thanks for the info y'all.

I have the rear hub - overall, it's a good value. FYI, I stripped one track nut and broke one locknut (split right in half when I torqued the tracknut down). The lockrings are ok. Not great, but ok. No splippage or anything on mine.

i do not believe that these hubs are fixed/fixed. they are titled track/road which leads me to believe that they are fixed/free. I purchased their wheelset and they turned out to be fixed/free when they advertised it as a fixed/fixed wheel. I would call them to verify before ordering them. I also didn't get lockrings on my since they ran out???? they ended up sending me a dura ace one after i complained.
overall i have had no problems with the wheelset.

^ weird, the hubs that i ordered a few months ago were fixed/fixed, but definitely worth calling to verify.

Unless the picture is wrong, I definitely see two lockrings on it, meaning it is fixed/fixed

it came out to $15.29 with the 15% discount, then applied the 10% on top of that. I tacked mine onto stuff I need to get the winter beater up in time for snow. $15 fenders, $12 bottom bracket, and a couple of $3 brake cables to get it up to 5 items.

SJS Cycles also sells the same hub, but as a set for £40 (with 2 lockrings and the tracknuts). On-one uses them too, but are more expensive.
If you get them for the tenner plus reasonable shipping (and no customs hassle) you've got a good deal on a nice hub. But do change the lockring as mentioned earlier for something more durable.

I ordered two, owing to if it works, I want to take advantage while it does. I would've bought a front as well, but they really weren't reduced that much.

There's a difference between the track wheelsets that Nashbar sells (sold?) and the Nashbar-branded track hubs.
The complete wheelsets are fixed/free Formula hubs and don't include a lockring.
The hubs you can get sans-rims and spokes are Dimension/Joytechs (?), are fixed/fixed and come with two alloy lockrings.

All the Nashbar Track hubs that I ordered were fixed/fixed and came with two STEEL lockrings. I just checked and they are definitely steel.

I was curious aboout these when I saw them reduced the other day...I may just go ahead and get some and try my hand at wheel building...it'd be uber cheap.

At that price, maybe suicide isn't the answer afterall. :D
although i have no use at all for them, i kind of want to pick up some just because of the price. is this wrong?

Huh. Looks like I only ordered one after all, checking the confirmation. If there are no hitches, I might order another, and a couple of fronts to go with them. And maybe 1 or 2 other things, to make up to 5 for the 15%. How long do these deals typically last?

Ha! The hub is actually rather pretty. Good for you guys.

Ok, so I ordered 2 front hubs (which seem cheaper today) and another rear, plus some clips and straps and some grips. I needed the last two items, but I ordered them in order to get the 15% discount. I don't think I got the aforementioned discount. Anyway, if I got 3 hubs and the other shizzle for £42, then I'll not be complaining.
