I've got a Fuji Mixte I'd like to date. I bought it as a frameset, so I can't go by the dates on components.

I've been looking to nail down the dates of two Fuji's I have (a Supreme and a Royale) but can't find anything online that comes closer than sometime around 1980 give or take 3 years. I'd sure love to see someone post some images of catalogs.

Hey, nice piece of trash. ;)
You'll probably find Ishiwata stamped on the steer tube; that's good!
The Fuji folks in Philly are really nice to talk with, but, they have no data on Fujis of that eara. I've tried and they've looked - nothing. :(

I accurately dated the two Fuji's I own using the date codes on the deraileurs and comparing them to the date codes listed on the 'Vintage Trek' website for components. Once I had an idea what year I was dealing with, BF member T-Mar was able to nail down details. He has incredible knowledge and seems always willing to help. You should try contacting him.
After T-Mar, beaverstuff (already posted here) is probably the next most knowledable on Fuji's from what I've read (there might be someone else, but I don't think so).
My own knowledge of Fuji's is ranked fourth..............from the bottom of the list.:p

EDIT: To the OP, if that's what the throw away in Oklahoma, I need to get a truck and go there on pick-up day. Very nice find!

What I know was gleened from the work of others. I've only been acquainted with Fujis since August 2005, which makes me a newbie. I'm honored for the cite, but, please, my knowledge is very limited. :o

I acquired a frameset via Ebay - no components, ergo, no date codes. The Fuji guys couldn't do anything with the BB serial number of 25 years ago. :(
