Road Cycling - New Wheelset

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have been looking at getting a new wheelset for my road bike (cannondale r600). I have checked out roadbikereview.com for some reviews on some wheelsets, but their are just so many wheelsets available. I was wondering if I could get a few idea/recommendations from this community. Basically, my riding style is:
> 100-150 miles per week
> typically have strong crosswinds to contend with at times
> i weigh about 165
Just looking for a lightweight/strong wheelset that I can be happy with...and one that won't break the bank. I thought about checking out my LBS, but I wanted to get some ideas from you guys before heading in.
Thanks,
Get Mavic open pros on Dura Ace or Ultegra hubs. Their light, cheap and strong.

Get a normal pair of wheels. By this I mean th enormal production hubs, rims and normal spokes. Maybe cheaper bu ta lot easier to replace parts.
Mavics make good wheels, but so do some other companies that are not "boutique" bike shop brands and for less money. I ride on Torelli Master Series that weighed 425 grams, they are double eyelit and doubled walled. I laced them with DT Revolution spokes since I only weigh 163 and have 36 spokes per wheel. A set of these wheels 6 or 7 year ago cost me $125 built, whereas the Mavics at the time would of cost me $175. You can get just the rim today for $39 in silver whereas the Mavics are $60 for silver. These rims rarely go out of true even just slightly! And most European Pro riders ride on them as their training wheels.
I am a big fan of conventional wheels-easy to work on and get parts for. I am partial to Sun Ringle's wheelsets, or their rims laced to the hubs of your choosing. All the guys at our shop ride their rims or wheelsets and one of the clubs we sponsor uses them as well. All report great results.

Handbuilts from your local bike shop(they should do a free tension & true after first 100-200 miles). Mavic Open Pro rims on Ultegra hubs 32 DT competition butted spokes, brass nipples, not revolutions.
